These terms apply to every order placed on helenlacey.co.uk. Please read them before you order. They don’t affect your legal rights as a consumer.
1. About us
This website is run by Helen A. Lacey, author of the Let’s Talk books. Our business address is: Helen A. Lacey, c/o Enact Solutions, The Sharp Project, Thorp Road, Manchester M40 5BJ.
You can get in touch through the Contact Me page or by email at [email protected].
2. Prices and payment
All prices are in pounds sterling (£). Delivery costs are shown at checkout before you pay, and depend on where the books are going and how many you order.
We take payment by card (including Apple Pay and Google Pay) through Stripe, and by PayPal. Payment is taken when you place your order.
3. Your order
After you place an order, you’ll receive an email confirming it. That email is our acceptance of your order and forms the contract between us.
If we can’t supply something you’ve ordered, we’ll let you know as soon as possible and refund you in full.
4. Signed and personalised books
If you choose a signed copy, Helen will sign the book and add your personal message, and it will be gift wrapped with your child’s name on the front.
You add the personalisation details after you’ve paid, using the form on the order confirmation page. We’ll also email you a link to the form, so you can fill it in or change it later.
- Please check spellings carefully. Helen will copy the names and message exactly as you give them.
- Messages can be up to 350 characters.
- You can change your details using the same link until your order has been sent.
- Please send your personalisation details within 2 weeks of placing your order. We’ll send email reminders, and Helen may also contact you by phone or text. If we still haven’t received your details 2 weeks after you ordered, your order will be cancelled and refunded in full.
- We may decline a message that we consider offensive or inappropriate. If so, we’ll contact you, and if we can’t agree a message we’ll refund you.
5. Delivery
We deliver in the UK and to many countries worldwide. Some books can only be sent to UK addresses; you’ll be told at checkout if anything in your basket can’t be sent to your address.
Signed books are sent once we’ve received your personalisation details. Delivery times are estimates and aren’t guaranteed.
For deliveries outside the UK, any import duties, taxes or handling fees charged by the destination country are the customer’s responsibility.
6. Returns and refunds
Damaged or faulty books
If your book arrives damaged, please email us straight away with clear photos and we’ll put it right with a replacement or a full refund.
Changed your mind? (unsigned books)
You can cancel your order within 14 days of receiving it, without giving a reason. Please email us to let us know and to request the return address.
The book/s must be sent back unused and in protective packaging. You pay the cost of sending the book/s back.
Once the returned book/s has been received and confirmed to be in undamaged condition, a refund will be issued within 2 working days.
Signed and personalised books
Because signed books are personalised especially for you, they can’t be returned once Helen has personalised them, unless they are damaged or faulty.
If we haven’t received your personalisation details within 2 weeks of your order, your order will be cancelled and refunded in full (see section 4).
7. Offers and discounts
Special offers are applied automatically at checkout when your basket qualifies. Offers can’t be exchanged for cash, and we may change or end an offer at any time. An offer that was showing when you placed your order will still be honoured.
8. Our responsibility to you
If we don’t meet these terms, we’re responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of that. We’re not responsible for loss or damage that isn’t foreseeable. Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility where it would be unlawful to do so, or affects your statutory rights.
9. Your information
We use your details only to process and deliver your order and to keep in touch about it. Please see our Privacy Policy.
10. The law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
